Dr Amanda is a Launceston local and loves being able to raise her own family here. She is a medical graduate of the University of Tasmania (2013) and then went on to complete her internship and residency at the Launceston General Hospital (LGH). It was there where she developed a love for women's and children's health and completed her Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
For the past 6 years she has worked in George Town as a GP and became a fellow of The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners RACGP (2018).
She is able to assist with contraception, pre-conception health, fertility, menopause, and thoroughly enjoys pregnancy shared care, plus the baby snuggles that follow at post-natal checks.
More recently she has finished her NDC (neuroprotective developmental care) training and is accredited and ready to start helping parents and their bubs with consults at The Bubble.
She is Tasmania's third NDC practitioner and excited to be supporting and assisting with breast-feeding, unsettled infants and sleep problems with an evidence based approach. She found the approach helped her greatly with her own children, especially with her own breast-feeding troubles, and appreciates how this approach can help the neurodevelopment of infants and is ready to support the mental health of pregnant and new mums.
She is a mum to two young children and is often on adventures with them and her husband on her days off. She loves the beach and a good walk with the family dog.
